La Martiniquaise Appoints 375 Park Avenue Spirits as Exclusive US Importer for Saint-Vivant Armagnac

LOUISVILLE, KY (December 3, 2015) —La Martiniquaise announced that effective December 1, 2015, 375 Park Avenue Spirits, a division of the Sazerac Company is appointed as the exclusive United States importer for its Saint-Vivant Armagnac brand. Produced in France, Saint-Vivant is currently the number two producer of Armagnac worldwide.

Armagnac is the oldest Brandy distilled in France and is believed to date back to 1559 when St. Vivant de la Salle produced the first bottle of Armagnac from his vineyards in Gascony. Named in honor of St. Vivant de la Salle, Saint-Vivant Armagnac is produced in Condom, France in the department of Gers from native white grapes grown in the Bas-Armagnac and Armagnac-Ténarèze regions of Gascony. The brand remains faithful to its heritage by using the time-honored technique of distillation traditionnelle armagnacaise followed by aging in French oak barrels until mature.

Commenting on the appointment, Christophe Pichambert, International Director of La Martiniquaise said, “We are proud and excited to collaborate with 375 Park Avenue Spirits for the importation of Saint-Vivant Armagnac. It is a long-term partnership, and we are very enthusiastic about the growth potential that the US market offers, especially for premium Armagnacs.”

Saint-Vivant’s unique appearance is recognized around the world. Each of the brand’s expressions (VS, VSOP, Napoleon, and XO) is presented in exclusive bottles with inclined necks that feature a wax seal and parchment label reminding one of it’s prestigious old world pedigree.

With four categories of Armagnac (VS, VSOP, Napoleon, and XO) available, 375 Park Avenue Spirits will introduce new Saint-Vivant marques in 16 existing markets (CA, CO, CT, DC, ID, IL, ME, MT, NJ, NY, NV, SC, VT, WA, WI, WY) as well as expand the brand into another eight markets (AZ, MA, MD, GA, FL, IN, MO, MI) in 2016.
